Las Vegas Natural History Museum

A tour through the incredibly diverse and rich natural history of our amazing planet is easier than one may think. At the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, visitors are treated to interactive exhibits and educational programs that offer a glimpse into astonishing ecosystems, cultures and wildlife from across the globe.

Among its many interesting displays is the Prehistoric Life Gallery, which is dominated by a 35-foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex that lowers its gigantic head and roars at visitors. Other impressive representations include a triceratops, a raptor and an ichthyosaur, an enormous marine reptile native to ancient Nevada.

Exhibits in the African Gallery display the unparalleled beauty of the Serengeti and African rainforests. The fascinating gallery also includes interactive displays that feature animals hidden in brush and trees and a thunderstorm with lightning and rain.

Another exciting gallery at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum focuses on marine life. The cool blue gallery features live sharks, eels and stingrays in a 3,000-gallon tank. Life-size recreations of fish and sharks decorate the ceilings, while a range of colorful, amazing creatures can also be found in jewel tanks scattered around the room.

The museum is home to more than just marine life. World-class taxidermy specimens from across the planet can be found in the International Wildlife Gallery, and live animals including Burmese pythons, scorpions, snakes, tarantulas and lizards are also on display at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.
